This bicycle tops off at 22.5 inches (57 cm) so for a 6'3" person, this is not the bike to own. The bike shop swapped the stem for one that was 45 degrees, and raised the seat post about 10 inches. Despite those changes, my wrists would hurt and fingers would go numb after riding less than two miles. Also the brakes are really cheap and have dismal stopping power. I returned the bike and bought 2012 Specialized Sirrus Pro that comes in 58, 61 and 64 cm. It fits perfectly.

A great bike. I upgraded from a 10 year old super light aluminum triple 7.7 FX which at that time was top line. The 7.9 is noticibly lighter and smoother riding. I opted for the Ultegra double compact which is performing very well. I just finished the MS 150 and found it comfortable for the long haul and very dependable. The new saddle takes some getting used to. The bike is attractive in the matt black and now with 1200 miles in 6 weeks of riding I definitly would recommend the 7.9FX to anyone looking for a high a quality bike capable of long or short rides.

Try this ride! great machine! My 2007 came with a set of treking bars that really make riding long and touring great! Consider changing the bars so you have all the great hand positions.

I absolutely love this bike and also own a specialized Roubaix, Trek 2300, Miyata triplecross tour bike, and specialized Rock Hopper mtn. bike. The 7.9 if definitely my favorite ride. The carbon frame gives me smooth riding and I find myself not wanting to end my rides. I'm older and needed the upright position of a flat bar for longer rides, but the responsiveness of a true road bike...and I wanted carbon. I have not regretted at all the extra expense of the 7.9 [would have regretted not getting it]. This is a tight bike, well put together and FAST!! It is great in traffic as a commuter, fast on training and group rides, sturdy enough for light touring...it has it all. But the best I can describe the 7.9 is that it is a pure JOY to ride. If you can handle the money and want a flatbar road bike, I heartily recommend as the 7.9 FX. I couldn't imagine it getting much better.

BEWARE cheaper components substituted for what is on the paper catalog. Shimano pedals and brake levers are no where to be seen instead brake levers from fx 7.6 and pedals from fx 7.6-7.7 were what came out of the box. Definite downgrade of components so becareful before shelling out [$]

I love this bike. I will put some removable fenders on it soon so I can ride when the road is wet and be comfortable. Bontrager makes just the item. I am very please especially the way this bike has held up to a clydesdale rider over the last 14,000 miles. Next year another 11,000 miles.

I wanted a strong lightweight bike to do some commuting and touring. This bike is full carbon, triple chainrings and has rack mounts.My only complaint is the handlebars, and gear levers. There is no room for your hands to rest comfortably anywhere on the bars. I am a large adult male (90kgs) and have large hands.I will be changing the bars to flat bars and try and find a set of 10 speed grip shifters.Also the wheels aren't strong enough for a person my size. There isn't enough spokes, and at [$](Australian) each to replace, it isn't a good idea. You need to give an option of stronger wheels for heavier people.

I LOVE my new bike... i just got it 2 days ago and have riden it 5 miles already!!! its a thrill to ride and a really nice bike... i would totally recomend this to ANYONE!!!
